Habit for Humanity of Jefferson County will hold its annual Dinner/Auction on January 29th at the Livery Stable at the Broadway Hotel.  Doors will open at 6pm for the social hour and bidding on the silent auction items. Dinner will begin at 7pm, with the live auction to follow.  We have some amazing items and trips to bid on.  Live music will be provided for your  pleasure by Tommy Day.  This is our main fund-raiser for the year and is always a good time.  We will also be raffling off a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer.  If you need tickets or information please call Carol Ann at the Habitat office 265-9697.  Tickets are $30 per person for the dinner  and raffle tickets are $20 each.

Walmart has stepped up once again to return some of its profits to the local community.  On December 2, Habitat for Humanity received a check for $1,000 from the local store.  Once again we want to thank Walmat and all their employees who made this possible.

Habitat welcomes our new partner family, Gwen and Scott Cutter and their two boys(and dog).  Scott did most of the work in refurbishing  the house at 410 Peacock Court.  He did a wonderful job and is currently volunteering his skills on another Habitat project.

Habitat will be having an information meeting on Nov. 14th at the Jefferson County Public library.  The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 AM.  We will explain how Habitat works and the requirements for applying for ownership of the next house we build.  If you, our someone you know  would like an application, please attend this meeting.  If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact our office at 265-9697.

Habitat has received numerous donated items that you might want to use for your home.  Check them out on September 19th from 9-2.  We are located  at the Madison Plaza Shopping Center, next to Furniture Liquidators.  All proceeds will be used to build a new home in Jefferson County.

If you are seeking Habitat Housing, please attend our application meeting at 10 o’clock at the Jefferson County library on March 7th.  At this meeting we will explain what the requirements are to become a Habitat partner.  Applications will be handed out at this time,  you must be at the meeting to receive an application. We are looking for a quailfied family for a  three bedroom house in Hanover.  If you have any questions, please call our office at 265 9697.
